Connect/Disconnect
Use this to connect or disconnect from TWS. If you are in simulation
mode, connect will open the Simulation Setup dialog prompt for you to
select a playback data source or use live data. Disconnect will
disconnect AutoTrader from TWS or if in playback mode, will stop the
playback.
Save Current Settings
Whenever you change any value in any of the editable fields, you need
to save the settings to make the values permanent. Otherwise values
always reset back to the last saved values.
Start Data Collection/Stop Data Collection
Select this to start collecting market data for the current symbol. You
can only collect data for one symbol, and you cannot switch symbol
while data collection is active. The collected data is used for
playback. Collected data includes market depth data if it is available
for the symbol.

Tools (formerly Options)
Post TradesThis will paste any filled order (entry or exit) to
the selected destinations. This is useful if you want to show your
trades in a chatroom like hotcomm, or simply keep tabs of your trades
in an open notepad or editor window.
Quote SourceThe normal quote source is IB. Registered users
have the option to use eSignal as a quote source for AutoTrader. Order
are still submitted to TWS, just the market data is obtained from
eSignal instead of IB.
Convert Data For eSignal PlaybackYou can convert data from any
one of the supported format to esignal playback format. You can
download and use eSignal software without subscribing to eSignal for
data. eSignal has a decent chart playback system and you can use
this utility to generate the data file for use in esignal playback. The
following data format are currently supported for conversion: Sierra
46 MND, Ensign Playback File for ES, NQ, YM, EUR, Globex Time and
Sales for ES, NQ, ER2, EUR and JPY, ECBOT Time and Sales for ZB,
ZN, ZF, ZT and YM, and Random Number source.
Create Playback Data from Backfill
Use this option to download
historical (backfill) data to a text file for use with playback. When
you select this option, a Dialog window will open prompting you for the
symbol (must be defined in AT Preferences Contracts), the data date,
the directory location where you want to save the file (defaults to the
AutoTrader data directory), and specify whether you want the data for
regular trading hours only or if you want to include extended trading
hours. Click on the Create button to create the file. TWS makes
connection to historical data server on demand, so sometimes the first
request will fail due to the setup time TWS requires to make the
connection. If this occurs, simply click on the Create button again.
Unregistered users are restricted to symbol GOOG only.
Countdown Timer
This is a utility that will display a countdown timer and will alert
you either by flashing and/or sound the specified seconds before the
time interval ends.
