Features Print
Here is a list of features provided by AutoTrader:
  • Runs on all platforms that run Java 1.4 or later. This includes Windows x86, AMD 64, MacOS X, Linux, Solaris, HP/UX, etc.
  • Application now comes with Windows and MacOS X installer (new in 1.24).
  • Program is multithreaded.  Will take advantage of multi CPU SMP systems.
  • One click position entry.
  • Automatically bracket position with exit orders.
  • Scale in to add to position.
  • Scale out automatically at preset interval.
  • One click position reverse.
  • One click to close position.
  • Http Interface, allows you to submit orders using http protocol, from any browser or from any application or programming language that supports http command. Trading FA accounts is fully supported.
  • Trading Simulation. You can simulate trade during trading hours using live market data, and during off hours using collected market data (a feature introduced  find first in AutoTrader). So now you don't have to deal with the IB demo system.
  • Playback from the following data sources:  User Defined Format text files, Sierra data file,  AutoTrader collected data,  Random number generator,  Ensign playback file, CME Globex Time and Sales,  ECBOT Time and Sales, eSignal tick data, and coming soon any user defined data in CSV format.
  • Fast forward and rewind playback. SierraChart is required to display the playback data.

  • Section Panels docks and floats to separate windows. This allows you to leave only important panels open to use your screen space more efficiently.
  • Displays market depth information graphically. User has option to turn off market depth data display.
  • Supports display of prices in fraction. Useful for Bond traders. Internal prices are stored to five decimal places to support prices down to 1/32.
  • Open position timer. Lets you know how long your position has been open.
  • Mouse Wheel Support. AutoTrader is the first program to introduce this feature. Most of the entry box values can be modified by moving the mouse pointer inside the box, and turning the mouse wheel up or down. Turn up will increase the value, turn down will decrease the value. Only when you move out the mouse pointer from the box will the new value be applied.
  • Four ways to enter your data, use the mouse wheel, right click and select from a popup list selection, type in your entry using the keyboard and hit TAB, and middle click your mouse and use the KeyPad.
  • Classic Order Entry panel supports Limit, Stop, Stop Limit and Market orders with OCA.
  • Breakout Entry allows you to enter a stop buy and stop sell OCA order pair by specifying the buy and sell price.
  • Works with Stocks, Options, Futures and Forex.
  • Partial fills for Position Entry are protected. If the price goes against you up to your stop offset amount, then the partial filled quantity is closed and the rest of the order is cancelled. You might think at first that you are getting a better fill, but you might actually be catching a falling knife without this feature.
  • SmartTrack order tracking on markets where bid/ask spread is more than one tick.
  • Uses log4j for logging messages to display and to file. Also allows logging debug information to file for additional information that you can send me when you want to report a bug.
  • Special link to BracketTrader when playing back AutoTrader data which contains market depth data so you can use BracketTrader DOM feature in simulation mode after regular trading hours.
  • Playback via TWS API Server proxy now allows multiple client connections for registered users.
  • Works with Financial Advisor accounts.
  • Starting with version 1.24, registered users can run an unlimited number of  instances of AutoTrader for simultaneous trading of different symbols.
  • QuoteTracker Symbol Link.. For QuoteTracker users, if you enable this feature in AT Preferences, the symbol in QuoteTracker and AutoTrader are linked both ways.
  • QuoteTracker Symbol Link will now automatically create a symbol entry in AutoTrader if the symbol selected in QuoteTracker is not yet defined in AutoTrader. This will allow QuoteTracker users to view the chart on a new symbol, and quickly do a trade in AutoTrader if needed.
  • Uses the latest TWS API client code (version 8.6).
  • Download historical data for any day within the last six months for any symbol you have market data subscription for that has historical data.
